Woke up late, was late to work, missed my meeting. Now nibbling on chocolate (expected to continue for the entire morning or until I run out of chocolate, whichever occurs first).
Most of the developers are not at work today, because this giant project we have most of the company working on is about to ship, which means:
1. There will soon come crunch time when people may have to work on weekends, so everyone on the project is getting forced vacation NOW. The logic isn’t entirely clear to me, but it makes sense somewhat.
2. managers are frantically looking for more work (projects) so that people will have stuff to work on after this one ships. Because people still get paid the same even if the company doesn’t get to bill clients for working on their stuff.
Apparently the project is still somewhat of a secret because when I search for the codename (and company name) on Google, nothing relevent comes up. And if google doesn’t know about it, noone does…
